And it is because of the fact, that in my profile, towards the end I state that I love and respect my fellow man and woman, as long as that fellow human intends no harm. So you could be gay, Indian, janitor, old, lawyer, judge, prostitute , and I would accept you and not pass a predetermined opinion on you.
So, feel free to comment, because I am not going easy on this one.....
Cops suck!
And I am tired of calling them heroes. Any time that I was in any kind of dire situation in life, I had to get out of it myself. Not once in my 55 years on this earth has a cop ever come to my aid. I was attacked by some Latin King gang members, at an ATM, and wound up fighting my way out of it, but suffered a busted jaw and a fractured orbit. So, I could have used a cop there, but the gang members did not give me a chance to make a call. And when did the cops show up? After I dragged my bloody and busted body to the nearest home to call for an ambulance.
But this post is not about the cops protecting me from gang members, but that my only interaction with the police in 55 years has always been a negative experience. Granted, the majority of the interactions were when they were busy meeting their ticket quota, ultimately transferring my funds into the state coffers.
Let me quantify this rant by explaining that about one hour ago, I was pulled over be a cop for speeding, and it simply was not true. I have been pulled over for speeding before (not in the past 10 years) and took the ticket unwillingly, without any resistance, because I knew they were valid.
In this particular incident an hour ago, I calmly explained to the officer (cop) that he pulled over the wrong speeding vehicle....mine. The explanation I gave to the cop to substantiate his mistake, was quite valid and sensible, and a little too lengthy to bore you with here, but should have kept the young boy trooper at bay.
Yet, the only thing that boy in a uniform and hat could see, was his ego being questioned. And you know it is true, that most cops would rather write that ticket and be wrong, than admit to a possible error in his egotistical judgement.
You will see time and time again, when a cop is caught using his badge to dole out his own brand of justice. And some police sympathizers might claim that those are isolated instances, and not true of all cops. I say what they those cops say to me about speeding......"If we caught you this time, its only because you do it all the time and just got caught".
